- Comment: We hired Panhandle Custom Homes to build our new house. We went to them with a plan, and their estimators tailored it to our needs/wants and budget. The building process went smoothly. Weather caused the most setbacks - the summer of 2015 was unusually rainy - but it took just six months to complete the house. When we changed or upgraded features of our plan, the extra charges were reasonable. We were able to do a few things ourselves (like painting) to save some money. A few of the home's features are clear-span engineered beams, LVT floors, tall kitchen cabinets, an oversized garage with eight-foot doors, a second-floor laundry room, a large front porch and back patio area, and flat casing windows. Unfortunately we ran out out of nice weather to finish the landscaping, so that fifth star will come this spring.
