Why did the customer contact us?

2nd floor toilet overflowed overnight affecting ceramic tile, drywall and baseboards - kitchen - plaster ceiling, drywall, laminate, cabinets - Basement is unfinished

Solutions provided:

For this water loss caused by a toilet overflow on the second floor, our team performed both mitigation and reconstruction services across multiple affected areas.

We began by extracting water from the ceramic tile and carefully removed damaged drywall and baseboards in the second-floor bathroom. Dehumidifiers and air movers were strategically placed to ensure thorough drying, preventing mold growth and moisture retention.

In the kitchen, water had damaged the plaster ceiling, drywall, laminate flooring, and cabinets. We removed the wet plaster ceiling, compromised drywall, and flooring. Cabinets were carefully cleaned and assessed for water damage. Afterward, air movers were set up to dry the kitchen areas thoroughly.

In the basement, while the space was unfinished, we took precautions to check for any water spread into the lower levels. Moisture detection tools were used to ensure no water was trapped behind walls or floors.

For the reconstruction, we replaced the damaged drywall and baseboards in the second-floor bathroom and reinstalled the ceramic tile after ensuring the subfloor was completely dry. In the kitchen, we replaced the plaster ceiling, drywall, and laminate flooring. Any damaged cabinets were either repaired or replaced as needed.

Finally, we ensured the basement remained dry and safe, completing the restoration to return the home to its original condition.
